Cells grow by dividing, sometimes identically (mitosis) and sometimes differently (meiosis). If you consider a company also to be a kind of living entity, one way of growth is constantly reorganising itself into more focused business groups.
Sixteen months back, Bonphul Air Products started as a company to manufacture a variety of indoor air quality (IAQ) equipment. In these 16 months, as Bonphul’s product-portfolio has proliferated, the company has also come across customer demand for integrative services. “Don’t just give us a box, come and integrate it with our existing infrastructure, and make it work,” they’ve said.
So, starting the 1st of January 2019, Bonphul Air Products would reorganise itself into 2 business groups: (a) product distribution and (b) consulting services. The product distribution group would continue to do what we’ve all along been doing: selling to end customers through a network of channel partners.
The newly formed consulting services group, on the other hand, would be a product-agnostic solution provider. Their job would be to solve client problems, with or without Bonphul products. Their focus would be on clients’ problem solving, not Bonphul’s product sales. Their services would consist of:
1. AQ Audit
2. AQ Infrastructure Design
3. AQ Infrastructure Implementation
4. AQ Certification
5. AQ Assurance
The AQ Consulting Services–to give its proper name–would be operationally headed by Brototi Sengupta. From the Board’s side, our new Executive Director Arup Majumdar would be the in-charge.
