Gas Engineering

We, at Bonphul Air Products, are basically engineers at heart. By combining the branches of chemical, mechanical and, increasingly, information technology, we bring our combined expertise to the field of gas engineering.

Our engineering expertise is in PSA (pressure swing adsorption) technology. There are many techniques of separating gases from each other, but PSA is the most popular and the one we excel in.

Pressure Swing Adsorption

In PSA, selective gases are separated from a mixture of gases (such as air), using certain adsorbent chemicals. The way it works is that adsorbent materials, when put under pressure, tend to trap or adsorb certain gas molecules (adsorption), while letting other molecules flow through. By reducing the pressure, the trapped gas molecules are removed (desorption). This cyclic operation of swinging between adsorption and desorption, using pressure, is called pressure swing adsorption.

In our oxygen generators, air is passed under high pressure through an adsorbent bed, made up of the chemical zeolite. In the first cycle, the zeolite traps the nitrogen molecules while letting the oxygen molecules flow through. In the second cycle, as the pressure is lowered, the nitrogen molecules are released, thereby flushing the zeolite bed and making it ready for the next cycle.

Small-Capacity PSA Oxygen Generators

OxyMan 50 is a small-capacity PSA oxygen generator. Each unit of OxyMan 50 generates 50 LPM (litres per minute) of oxygen. It is extremely affordable, highly compact (smaller than a home refrigerator), and consumes very little energy (3 KW per hour). Read More

Currently, OxyMan 50 is being used widely in the Indian hospital industry. The industry consists of about 70,000 hospitals. Of this, 25,000 are in the government sector and 45,000 are in the private sector. Almost 90% of the hospitals in the private sector are of small & medium capacity (10-100 beds). OxyMan 50 is the perfect product for such small & medium hospitals.

OxyMan 50 can also be used in other industries like aquaculture, aviation, food, glass, etc.
